Smithy Cottage Grasmere
Smithy Cottage is brimming with Lakeland charm. Situated a short stroll from the centre of the idyllic village of Grasmere, the spiritual home of romantic poetry and the famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop, visitors will instantly fall in love with the scenic beauty the area has to offer. Formerly the home of the village blacksmith, this recently renovated property possesses the character for which Grasmere and the Lake District are renowned. The working forge, White Bridge Forge, is situated next door.
With three double bedrooms (one of which is a small double), a spacious living environment and a dog friendly policy, Smithy Cottage is a welcome retreat for all guests. At the heart of the property is a large sitting room, heated by a log burner, which boasts impressive views of Helm Crag (otherwise known as the Lion and the Lamb). This is complemented by a well equipped kitchen and dining room. Also downstairs is a small bedroom and toilet. Upstairs are two spacious double bedrooms which provide stunning views of the surrounding fells, and a bathroom with a bath and shower.
The spectacular scenery is best enjoyed from the rear garden. This enclosed space features a large patio area and powered a awning, allowing guests to sit outside with shelter from sun or rain.
