Hawthorn Glamping
When you’re browsing for a bell tent to stay at, you'll be wanting a site that really looks after its facilities and guests. And that place is Hawthorn Glamping at the award-winning Vale of Pickering Caravan Park.
Settle in to your accommodation, right at the edge of the North York Moors National Park, and look forward to an outdoor trip with an upscale twist. Each space comes with a double bed (plus a couple of single futon beds for the kids), matting, rugs, throws, cushions, hot water bottles, mattress protectors, lanterns and fairylights for warmth and a cosy atmosphere.
Practical add-ons are included as well – there’s crockery and cutlery, a kettle for the single-ring gas stove, a washing up-bowl, washing-up liquid, a dishcloth, teatowel, coolbox and ice packs. Cooking outdoors is possible as a charcoal barbecue is provided, so all you’ll need to pack is a bit of bedding, pans and sharp knives.
Eat your meals on the picnic bench – with a parasol set up to protect from the rays – or skip the cooking and head to the on-site café for tea or coffee and plenty of homebaked goodies including croissants and breakfast items.
If this all sounds like everything’s been thoughtfully planned at this site, that's because it has. The park was originally set up in 1985, having began with five caravans in the corner of a field, so the owners have had plenty of time to improve the place. They also keep the grounds and communal facilities in tip-top condition – from the play area and football pitch to the well-stocked licensed shop.
