Description

Peaceful, non-smoking Blenheim Lodge is situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park and boasts stunning Lake Windermere and fell views. Our friendly guesthouse in Bowness-on-Windermere is ideal for singles, couples, and families on retreats, romantic breaks, walking, cycling, biking, fishing, golfing, sightseeing and activity holidays.

Secluded but not isolated, Blenheim Lodge is ideally situated for a relaxing break within the Lake District National Park. Nestling against acres of lovely National Trust fields and woodlands, our secluded B&B is a tranquil retreat.

Built as a former gentleman’s residence in 1868, our Bowness guesthouse is hidden at the end of a hilltop cul-de-sac, and distanced from noisy main road traffic, crowds and late night revellers; whilst our perimeter adjoins National Trust acres, with The Dales Way Footpath a literal minute's stroll from our front door. Amble pretty country paths behind our house to viewpoints with exceptional 360-degree views.

Enjoy the best of both worlds: combine your stay in pretty en-suite B&B rooms with stunning Lake Windermere and fell views with the convenience of a 5-minute walk to village centre amenities such as eateries and shops, attractions, Lake Windermere and its local waterside activities.

Blenheim Lodge is ideally situated for exploring the Lake District National Park. Windermere Railway Station is 5 minutes south. Local buses and ferries in Bowness-on-Windermere, where we are situated, provide convenient links to other parts of the Lake District.

There are also easy transport options for exploring further afield by using our local ferries and buses. We are also able to arrange bespoke travel options, including private and group tours with on-site pick up and drop off options for our guests.

Our fully refurbished 4-Star Bed and Breakfast retains much of its quirky Victorian character and period charm. Rooms are decorated with Laura Ashley colours and soft furnishing and most are furnished with antique pieces in keeping with their historic past. Comfortable handmade deep pocket-sprung mattresses and fluffy Norwegian duvets promote a restful night’s sleep.

For breakfast, we serve local Lakeland produce, including hearty butcher-crafted sausage and bacon made and delivered to our door on order. A local farm delivers fresh free-range eggs to our door also to order.

Blenheim Lodge is environmentally friendly. We buy local and use local trades where available. We also recycle and use ecologically sound products where possible.

We offer FREE onsite car-parking and WIFI to staying guests. There is also a comfortable lounge with Lake views for guests to relax in.

For romantic and special occasions, we can pre-order flowers, cake, champagne and luxury handmade chocolate truffles for your arrival. We can also tailor-make gift vouchers.

For guests requiring airport and train transfers prior to arrival, please feel free to ask us for help. We can then check with our local carriers for availability, and have arranged such transfers for previous guests. There is no extra charge for our services, so guests would need to pay the carriers directly.

  • All our rooms are named, and this is The Langdale, so called because the its triple floor to ceiling bay windows overlook both local and the more distant Langdale fells.
